The World Soke Council is an organization distinguished by its strong commitment to unity, solidarity, and mutual respect.
The Council President and the senior educators serving on the Board of Directors are highly experienced martial arts masters who
have proven themselves through many years of dedication and achievement, both in their own countries and internationally.
This team previously worked together within the Wakazamurai Martial Art Organization. They later reunited under the banner of the
World Soke Council with a shared vision, establishing a new organization founded on a serious mission and strong principles.
As a result, the World Soke Council was officially established in 2025 and has continued its efforts to serve and benefit people
through the values and traditions of martial arts.
To become a member of the World Soke Council, your internationally recognized diplomas and certificates are of great importance.
Certificates or diplomas issued privately between individuals without recognition from established organizations are not accepted.
Applicants are required to submit their most recent diploma(s) or certificate(s) issued by reputable martial arts masters, organizations,
or federations that are actively and legitimately recognized within the international martial arts community.
Documents that do not bear official stamps, seals, or other recognized forms of authentication cannot be accepted. If your certificates
or diplomas have been officially issued and were not obtained solely through online or unverified means, you may submit them for evaluation.
Applicants must also provide the names of the issuing organization and the martial arts master(s) who awarded their rank as
professional references. Verification of these references is an essential part of the membership evaluation process.
Please note that the titles of Grandmaster, Soke, and Hanshi require not only extensive experience in the martial arts but also an
appropriate level of age, maturity, leadership, and recognized achievement. These titles are considered prestigious distinctions and
are evaluated with the utmost care and responsibility by the World Soke Council.
Requirements for Applying for a Soke Certificate
Applicants wishing to obtain a Soke Certificate must meet the following requirements:
The applicant must be at least 40 years of age.
The applicant must have a minimum of 25 years of documented martial arts experience.
All qualifications and experience must be officially documented and verified.
The applicant must submit proof of holding at least a 6th Dan diploma previously awarded in their martial arts discipline.
References from recognized masters who can officially verify the applicant's 25 years of martial arts experience are required.
After the application has been submitted, the World Soke Council will conduct a thorough review and verification of the applicant's background. The applicant will be notified of the Council's decision upon completion of this evaluation.
The applicant's age, experience, and references are of great importance. If any one of these requirements is missing or cannot be verified, the application will be rejected.
The same eligibility requirements also apply to applications for Grandmaster, Hanshi, and Kancho Certificates.
The Hanshi Certificate, however, has additional significance. The title of Hanshi is regarded as being comparable to the title of a Professor in martial arts. Therefore, an applicant's martial arts background, age, experience, achievements, and reputation are evaluated with even greater scrutiny.
To be eligible for a Hanshi Certificate, the applicant must be at least 60 years of age.
Applicants must submit the following documents and information:
Full name and surname
Age
Date of commencement of martial arts training
Full name of their instructor (master) and the instructor's country
A copy of the applicant's most recent official Dan certificate
If applicable, copies of any Soke, Kancho, Grandmaster, or Hanshi certificates
Country of residence and full postal address
